Quick Guide
- Check whether the weapon requires light, medium or heavy proficiency.
- Fill the matching proficiency bar through combat.
- Visit the dojo and read the Upgrade requirements.
- Choose the matching class trainer and check each skill before Unlock.
A better weapon can require higher proficiency in its own class. Build the matching proficiency bar, visit the dojo and use its upgrade option, then unlock weapon skills through the trainer for that class.

Clover RPG weapons: check the class requirement first
Read the weapon’s proficiency requirement before trying to equip it. The gameplay guides separate light, medium and heavy weapon progression. A higher character level or progress with another weapon class does not by itself confirm that you meet this weapon’s requirement.
Keep using an available weapon of the class you want to develop while building its proficiency bar. The guides show combat as a way to progress it, followed by a separate dojo upgrade. They do not establish a fastest training target or a guaranteed number of kills.
A full proficiency bar still needs the dojo step
When the proficiency bar is ready, follow the progression task toward the dojo and speak to the trainer for the weapon class you are developing. Open the training interface and inspect Upgrade. Filling the bar and buying the next proficiency level are separate actions.
The reviewed Heavy Weapon Training panel shows the current proficiency level, a progress bar and a separate Upgrade button. Hovering or selecting the upgrade reveals its own resource requirements. Read those current requirements rather than assuming that the price of one level applies to the entire progression.

Unlock weapon skills through the matching trainer
At the dojo, choose the NPC specializing in your weapon type. Select the skill you want to learn. The heavy-weapon example lists abilities on the left and the selected skill’s description and requirements on the right.
Check Marks, Skill Points and required class proficiency before using Unlock. These are skill-purchase requirements, separate from the Upgrade purchase above. The Vertical Strike example is still blocked by its proficiency condition even though the character has Skill Points available.

Why a weapon or skill can still be locked
If you filled the bar but the weapon remains unavailable, check whether you completed the dojo upgrade. If a weapon equips but a particular skill is locked, inspect that skill’s own proficiency and purchase requirements.
Do not use a magic reroll to solve a weapon-proficiency problem. Magic, character level and weapon training have different progression steps. The level guide helps separate those milestones; the PC controls cover basic attacks before advanced skills are learned.
Weapon progression before a tier list
Choose an upgrade you can actually equip and use. The collected weapon-ranking sources do not provide matched combat tests for every weapon, and a table of base damage alone does not settle attack timing, reach or a particular matchup.
This guide therefore covers proficiency and skill unlocks rather than presenting an unverified all-weapon ranking. Start with the village weapon reward if you have no weapon yet. For character passives supporting your chosen playstyle, inspect the trait requirements before spending points.
